FBA shipment discrepancy windows (Seller Central)
Direct answer: On Seller Central FBA, compare shipped vs received on inbound shipments that are Closed. Missing units typically cannot be filed before day 15 or after day 60 from delivery (policy Amazon posted in Sept 2024). Confirm the live window in Seller Central. Amazon does not chase the gap for you.
What “discrepancy” actually is
| Type | Typical clock (confirm live) | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|
| Inbound shipped vs received | 15–60 days from delivery; shipment Closed | Manage FBA Shipments → Contents |
| Lost / damaged in the FC | Often 60 days from the adjustment date | Inventory Adjustments + Reimbursements |
| Removal lost in transit | Often 15–75 days from removal | Removal order + tracking |
| Customer return not received | Often 60–120 days after the refund | Returns vs FBA quantity |
Some warehouse losses auto-credit. Inbound shortages usually need a manual “Research missing units” case with shipment ID, FNSKU, POD/BOL, and a supplier invoice. Payout is generally sourcing cost, not retail.
This week
- Filter inbound to Closed. Diff shipped vs received on every child shipment ID in a split.
- Skip anything still Receiving or Delivered — counts are not final.
- If the SKU is a hero, treat a short receive as a bid input. Do not scale ads into units Amazon never checked in.
Vendor Central PO shortages are a different workstream. Do not file a 3P inbound case in the 1P portal.
FAQ
Can I file while the shipment says Receiving?
No. Wait until Closed. Amazon will not investigate counts that are not final.
Is this Vendor Central too?
No. 3P FBA inbound is Seller Central. 1P PO shortages are a different console and clock.
