FAQ
What is break-even ACOS?
Break-even ACOS is the contribution left on a unit after COGS and Amazon fees, expressed as a percent of the selling price. If advertising cost of sales is higher than that number, the ad-attributed order loses money.
What is TACOS?
TACOS is total ad spend divided by total sales (not just ad-attributed sales). It shows how dependent the whole P&L is on paid traffic. ACOS can look healthy while TACOS climbs because organic rank is decaying.
Which number should I manage to?
Use break-even ACOS as the bid ceiling on a SKU. Use TACOS to see whether ads are buying growth or replacing organic. ACOS alone hides both.
How do I get ROAS from ACOS?
ROAS is 100 ÷ ACOS when ACOS is a percent. A 25% ACOS is a 4x ROAS. Same campaign fact, inverted. Neither is profit.
What is max CPC?
Price × conversion rate × break-even ACOS. That is the highest cost-per-click a SKU can pay on an ad-attributed order without going underwater.
Do these calculators send my numbers anywhere?
No. They run in your browser. Nothing is stored or emailed.
If break-even ACOS is already underwater on a hero ASIN, that is a review — not a spreadsheet problem.
