Jungle Scout on this Amazon desk

A second estimate beats a single tool’s confidence interval.

Also searched as JS, Keyword Scout

Jungle Scout (JS) is the other research seat. Keyword Scout estimates search volume and PPC bid ranges. The product database and opportunity views are useful on launches and on “is this niche already a knife fight” questions. I run it next to Helium 10 on purpose: one tool’s volume should never be treated as a census.

When Helium 10 and Jungle Scout disagree, that disagreement is the finding. I do not average them into a fake precision. I put the term into discovery cheaply and let your account vote.

Standard Jungle Scout is research. Jungle Scout Cobalt is a different product — market share, ads automation, Seller + Vendor + Ads in one enterprise layer. If a founder says “we have JS,” I ask which seat. Mixing them is how people buy a research login and expect it to run PPC.

What it is for

Cross-check demand, opportunity, and keyword estimates against Helium 10, then keep only the overlap that also shows up in your own search terms.

What it is not

Not Jungle Scout Cobalt (that is the enterprise ads/intelligence layer — its own page). Not a replacement for Brand Analytics or the search-term report.

Source of truth: Your search-term report, Brand Analytics when Brand Registry is live, and Ads Console. Jungle Scout estimates are not Amazon’s numbers.

What actually gets used

  • Keyword Scout volume and suggested bid ranges as priors
  • Product database / opportunity filters on launches
  • Sales-estimate sanity checks against FBA Fee Preview and contribution
  • Side-by-side with Cerebro when the two tools disagree
  • Never used as a bid engine — that is Cobalt, Xnurta, or Teikametrics, supervised

How it shows up in the week

01

Prior

Keyword Scout on the money seeds and on the Cerebro shortlist. Note where JS and H10 diverge.

02

Launch

Product database as a “is this crowded” check before we rent Page 1. Not a substitute for inventory and listing completeness.

03

Prove

Discovery in Ads Console. Jungle Scout does not get to keep a term that spent without a sale.

04

Split

If the brand needs share, DSP, or multi-account ads intelligence, that is Cobalt — linked from this page, not hidden inside “JS.”

FAQ

What does JS mean on this site?

Jungle Scout — the research product (Keyword Scout, product database). Jungle Scout Cobalt is indexed separately because it is an ads and market-intelligence platform, not the same seat.

Helium 10 or Jungle Scout?

Both, as a cross-check. Neither overrules paid search terms. If they disagree on volume, we test cheaply instead of picking a favorite logo.

Do you use Jungle Scout sales estimates to set bids?

No. Estimates are a launch and assortment input. Bids follow contribution (Sellerboard + FBA Fee Preview) and live conversion in the Ads Console.

Do I need my own Jungle Scout login?

Only if you already have one you want used. I do not require you to buy JS to hire the desk.
